Almost 5 tonnes of canned chicken recalled from the US market

US Department of Agriculture's Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) issued a recall order for 4.9 tonnes of canned chicken produced by Aunt Kitty’s Foods.
According to FSIS inspectors, a possible processing deviation may have led to underprocessing of products. The problem was discovered on June 19, 2018, during the establishment’s labelling process, which detected multiple bulging cans of chicken gravy. FSIS was notified on June 21, 2018. According to the agency, the health risk of the alert is classified as high.

There have been no confirmed reports of adverse reactions due to consumption of these products. The items were produced on April 4, 2018, and they have been delivered to retail locations in New Jersey and New York under the labels: Western Beef Chicken GRAVY; ShopRite Chicken GRAVY; and Price Rite Chicken GRAVY
