Charoen Pokphand Foods receives Thai Labour Standard certification for its poultry farms

Thai leading agro-industrial conglomerate Charoen Pokphand Foods PCL has received certification under the Thai Labour Standard (TLS 8001-2553) for sixty of its poultry farms. The company is the first from Thailand's poultry industry to receive such a certification.

Charoen Pokphand Foods receives Thai Labour Standard certification for its poultry farms

The company announced that it plans to obtain certification for all of its 99 poultry farms and expects the rest of its 39 farms to be certified under the national standard for labour rights and welfare before 2019.

CPF executive vice president, human resources, Parisotat Punnabhum declared in a statement that the company wants to ensure that all of its workers receive proper training. This is the second year that the company audits its workforce, therefore ensuring that all the farms are following these guideline.

CPF wants to monitor its workforce management and practices of farms in order to make sure the farms comply with the GLP guidlines and other international human rights prescriptions.

“All workers must be treated equally under a guideline of international standards to make consumers and partners across the world confident in our supply chain," added Mr Punnabhum.
