Goldschmaus takes over sausage manufacturer Hein

Sausage manufacturers in Germany have been under pressure for years, with companies increasingly struggling due to intense competition, rising demands, cost structures, and raw material procurement. After the meat processor Dieter Hein in Hasbergen, Lower Saxony, filed for insolvency last October, the future of the Osnabrück site has now been decided: the long-established company will become part of the Goldschmaus Group.

As of March 1, 2026, the Lower Saxony-based company Goldschmaus will acquire Dieter Hein GmbH & Co. KG, subject to approval by the Federal Cartel Office, which is currently under review. Goldschmaus states that this acquisition will strategically expand its value chain and round out its portfolio. It also represents a consistent advancement of its vertical integration strategy. The Hein site in Hasbergen offers ideal conditions, with its convenient location in the greater Osnabrück area, the established business environment, and the qualified local staff being key factors in its decision.

The Dieter Hein company will continue to operate in full under the new ownership, and cooperation with customers and business partners will remain reliable. Proven products will remain in the product range, product quality will be maintained, and familiar contacts will continue to be available. Existing supply relationships will be seamlessly transferred.

According to its own statements, Dieter Hein is a medium-sized, internationally active manufacturer of meat and sausage products for retailers, wholesalers, and end consumers. Its product range has included raw sausages, ham, cold cuts, spreadable sausages, bratwurst, and snacks for deli counters, self-service counters, and frozen food counters. In recent years, the company has achieved average annual sales of approximately €77 million.
