JBS signs agreement with the federal government to offer jobs to Bolsa Família beneficiaries
JBS signed a technical cooperation agreement with the federal government last week, through the Ministry of Development and Social Assistance, Family and Fight Against Hunger (MDS), to facilitate the offer of job vacancies to those registered in the Single Registry for Federal Government Social Programs, CadÚnico. The system is the main gateway to programs such as Bolsa Família.
The agreement between JBS and the federal government is for two years and aims to promote the socioeconomic inclusion of individuals registered with CadÚnico. The agreement was signed at JBS headquarters in São Paulo, attended by the Minister of Development, Wellington Dias, JBS board member Wesley Batista, and the company's global CEO, Gilberto Tomazoni.
"We believe that job creation is one of the most effective forms of social inclusion. By joining forces with the MDS, we reinforce our commitment to the development of the communities where we operate and contribute to expanding access to formal employment opportunities ," stated Wesley Batista . "What we hear most at our units are people who want opportunities, not only for themselves, but for their families. Valuing people is what drives JBS. And it's the people who make everything happen here. The expectation of a better future is what motivates us to offer open doors to those who want to change their lives", he emphasized.
One of the largest employers in the country, JBS has production units in over 100 Brazilian municipalities and a total of 158,000 employees nationwide. For JBS Global CEO Gilberto Tomazoni, the company believes in its workforce as a driver of transformation. "We are present in hundreds of Brazilian municipalities, driving social development through job creation, training, and strengthening communities. And we do this with a clear objective: to be the best at what we set out to do", he emphasized.
To enable the participation of those registered with CadÚnico in the company's selection processes, the MDS will work in partnership with social assistance network agencies to guarantee, in an impersonal manner, access to the necessary information, with the prior consent of the candidates.
At the event, Minister Wellington Dias emphasized that social issues need to be a strategically integrated part of the economic. "Hunger cannot be treated separately from poverty, nor can the two be treated separately from the economy. We need to integrate the social, environmental, and economic aspects to see change happen", he declared.
Data sharing with JBS will be conducted in accordance with the company's Privacy Policy and the guidelines of the General Data Protection Law (LGPD). Under the agreement, JBS will be responsible for conducting the selection processes and forwarding the data of hired candidates to the Municipal Department of Social Development for validation of their eligibility in CadÚnico. Created in 2001, the system gathers information on low-income families in the country for inclusion in social assistance and income redistribution programs.
