JBS's Uboi transport system surpasses 5 million head of cattle transported in Brazil
The Uboi digital platform, developed by TRS, a JBS transport company (one of the world's largest food companies), has been expanded to serve cattle ranchers throughout Brazil. In five years, it has already moved more than 5 million head of cattle between farms in approximately 94,000 trips, connecting ranchers of all profiles – from feedlot operators to full-cycle producers. The service also transports beef cattle to slaughterhouses.
Launched with the goal of revolutionizing cattle transport in Brazil, with an initial investment of R$ 1 million, the service is a response to the agricultural sector's demand for greater security, predictability, and logistical efficiency, while maintaining an absolute focus on animal welfare and sustainability in the supply chain. With its own fleet of over 800 trucks and 30 strategic branches, Uboi plans regional and long-distance routes, including journeys of up to 4,500 km, such as from Acre to Bahia, equivalent to the distance between São Paulo and Bogotá.
The platform's intelligent logistics leverage vehicle movement, directing the nearest transport to meet local or inter-regional demands with agility and reduced idle travel, increasing operational efficiency.
“Uboi goes beyond a service; it's a TRS solution that professionalizes cattle transport, reducing inefficiencies, logistics costs, and ensuring animal welfare. Developed to meet the real needs of ranchers, the multi-channel platform offers simplicity, reliability, and practicality. We serve the demands of ranchers of all profiles: small, medium, and large, regardless of herd size ,” says Márcio Salaber, director of TRS , a transport company in JBS's New Business division.
The fleet uses various types of trailers, including double-decker trailers developed by JBS, which increase transport capacity from 18 to up to 54 animals per vehicle, always prioritizing animal welfare with lifting systems that eliminate stairs, reducing stress and potential injuries. Embedded telemetry and artificial intelligence monitor driver behavior and ensure complete herd traceability, preventing sudden movements that could harm the cattle.
For long journeys, the Uboi platform implements intelligent logistics with stops at "cattle pens," locations prepared for rest, feeding, and hydration of the animals, as well as rest periods for the drivers. These facilities are mostly located along highways specifically designed for cattle transport, ensuring comfort and safety throughout the journey.
The platform offers multi-channel contracting: via app, WhatsApp, phone, and website, designed to be an easy, fast, and agile tool that facilitates access even for producers with low technological familiarity. This strategy is confirmed by research from the Brazilian Association of Rural Marketing and Agribusiness (ABMRA) on the Habits of Rural Producers, released in September 2025, which revealed that 98% of rural landowners have easy access to smartphones and use the WhatsApp application. Furthermore, the system brings transparency to the process, allowing users to rate drivers, which promotes continuous improvement in service.
The success achieved by Uboi opens the possibility of expanding the service. The director of TRS indicates that, in the future, transportation could be expanded to include swine, poultry, and other segments. Today, the model is consolidating itself as a benchmark in the professionalization of agricultural transportation. Currently, the cattle transportation segment of TRS represents approximately 40% of all the cattle business of the TRS transport company, consolidating Uboi as one of the main logistics solutions.
