Responsibility, UK's key trend in food consumption for 2018

Responsibility is the new key trend in food consumption, claims a recent study released by MCA regarding the preferences in the UK market, reports Morning Advertiser magazine.
The concept of Responsible consumption is comprising lower beef consumption, interest manifested to vegetarian and vegan diet, rising demand for local products and a bigger popularity for nose-to-tail and root-to-steam eating habits.
Nevertheless, new experiences are always welcome and that fact is revealed by the increased popularity for West African cuisine on street-food and fine dining segments, along with Portuguese, South Korean, Japanese, Chinese, Indian or Italian food.
Goat meat seems to be a new delicacy (re)discovered by the British consumers but there is a growing interest also for chicken and barbecue products, even if the latest is now more focused on small meat portion menus, healthier eating and sustainable sourcing.
Vegans and vegetarians are tempted to try jackfruit (a "fake meat" product), tofu or meat-free menus from the Middle East cuisine, mention MCA's report "Menu and Food Trends 2018".
