Two new ASF outbreaks reported in China

The Chinese authorities have confirmed two new ASF outbreaks, one in the northern province of Hebei and the other in the northern region of Inner Mongolia, reports Reuters.
The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs said the first outbreak is on a farm in the Xushui district of Baoding city which has 5,600 hogs, some of which died because of the swine fever, though it did not give a death toll. According to the official, the farm has been quarantined and the herd slaughtered.
The other case occurred at a farm that was rearing wild boars, with 210 animals dead of 222. The rest have been culled. With these new cases, the number of provinces affected by the disease has reached 27. Since August last year, when the disease was first reported in Chima, more than 100 outbreaks have been reported and almost 1 million pigs have been culled.
