INTERPORC, an important part of the Spanish pork sector

Its leadership has been instrumental in helping the Spanish pork sector professionalize and remain at the forefront of quality, animal welfare, food safety, and sustainability. It has also consolidated its position as the leading producer in the EU and the third largest in the world, and the second largest exporter worldwide, reaching more than 130 countries.

Furthermore, it has been instrumental in boosting the sector's image globally through the creation of the Spanish Pork brand, the development of communication campaigns in international markets, and the organization of events and trade missions.

INTERPORC's core mission is to represent the white-coated pig sector and promote its development and image. This translates into multiple lines of action:

  • Communication and industry reputation: INTERPORC carries out powerful national and international campaigns, confronting hoaxes that distort the reality of the pork sector with truthful and demonstrable information, and its actions help improve consumer perceptions of the sector and its products.
  • Institutional Relations: It acts as the sector's official representative before national and international public administrations, establishing ongoing dialogue to anticipate regulatory challenges and defend the sector's interests.
  • Boosting sustainability: promotes the triple economic, social, and environmental sustainability model.
  • Support for innovation: It promotes farm modernization, the circular economy, biosecurity, and animal welfare. It also carries out intensive outreach activities through the organization of courses, conferences, and scientific meetings that generate knowledge.
  • Sectoral cohesion: unites the entire industry around a common goal. This unity has been crucial in addressing crises such as the closure of the Russian market, the COVID-19 pandemic, and the war in Ukraine.
